Allison + Sam

Hi all! Happy Saturday, and happy Valentines day. We wanted to share some of our favorites from Allison + Sam's wedding with you today. Allison and Sam got married on a beautiful day in September in Rochester and were surrounded by incredible family and friends. These two mean so much to each other and it really shows! They are such a fun and incredible couple to have spent the day with.

Allison and Sam were married by a good friend under a huge tent overlooking a beautiful landscape and then danced the night away as the sun set. The ceremony was beautiful, light, and fun as words of love, humor, and promises were shared.

Congrats again guys! We love you and wish you nothing but the best in all your years to come.

LEIGH ANN + PAUL

Once you meet Leigh ann and Paul you just know that they have it, they are living proof that love is real, and love is alive. The level of respect they have for each other is so beautiful, it has been such a pleasure getting to know them this past year through meetings, their engagement session,  and capturing their wedding day.

They got married on a perfect October day in Minneapolis, and I mean the weather was perfect. They both looked absolutely amazing and I swear Paul literally did not stop smiling all day it was adorable. Leigh Ann was so stunning in her classic BHLDN dress that fit her personality and her style to a T. 

One of our favorite moments of the day was when they exchanged hand written cards at their first look, they were glowing. We also really loved the styling of the wedding.  Paul is a chemist and so Leigh ann had the idea to have the wedding be chemistry themed which worked on two levels their catch phrase was "We have great chemistry." Their seating chart was a huge chalkboard with the periodic table on it, filled with guests initials. SO cool. 

We had such a blast with these two, and we hope these images will give you a glimpse of the love they share. 

2015

Hello friends! 

For the past five years that we have been photographing weddings we have made a habit of doing an annual year-in-review around this time. 2014 has been as monumental as ever and we are so happy to have traveled so much and met so many wonderful people. Photography took us from Minneapolis to New York to California and back again this year and we feel as though we really developed as artists along the way. This year was incredible throughout, however, this time we are going to focus more on the year to come rather than the year that was. 

Today is important to us for a few reasons. As you may have noticed, our look is quite different! We have completely overhauled our visual look in favor of a more simple and elegant design aesthetic and couldn’t be more happy with it. It's who we are. We worked with a couple of really incredible designers to really overhaul the whole business from the inside out. We’ve also woven the theme through our website in a way that really puts the focus on the photos. Go check it out at joystudios.net! 

One thing that’s been on our mind for a while is the fact that we have been focusing mainly on weddings and we’ve been wanting to get into family photography more and more. Family is an important thing. Its the people you share your life with. We have been capturing the love between people with weddings for years and we want to incorporate that with capturing the love of a family with originality and care.  

Of course, with families come babies! We will be beginning to offer photography for kids of all ages and are really excited about it. Kids are so much fun to photograph and such shining beacons of happiness and excitement. 

On top of all these things, we have a new format for our blog, a great new proofing site for clients, an incredible new ‘more info’ page, and so much more.

SO! 2014 was incredible, but 2015 is going to be EPIC! We would absolutely LOVE if you continue to share us and keep in touch.

We'll leave you with a quote thats always been close to us and I think it has a lot of weight behind it. Its a call to keep going, keep reinventing, and keep pushing beyond.

The Fox Family

We were so happy to photograph with the Fox family last week. Amy and Kyle, alongside their wonderful 1 year old daughter Josie and their puppy, were an absolute blast to hang out with for a spectacular sunset in Minneapolis. We met in Boom Park and to the backdrop of the city's skyline we photographed this wonderful family.

Erika + Patrick's Wedding

Erika and Patrick had such a beautiful wedding in August. These two have so much love for each other and were surrounded by so much love and support on their big day. They had a beautiful ceremony at Nazareth College in Rochester, NY and an incredible party afterwards. 

These two had big smiles on their faces the whole day. From the start of getting ready to the final dances of the night Pat and Erika had a blast and were well celebrated by everyone around them. We truly enjoyed spending time with both of them photographing them for the first time as Mr. and Mrs. Bellenger!
